At ALW we use leather and Leather alternatives as a medium to provide our clients with a broad range of architectural applications, from residential and commercial interiors to accessories and one-off custom pieces.
Our underlying philosophy is that by putting thoughtfulness into every detail of the process, we will be able to deliver the best results for our clients and simultaneously broaden our abilities and expertise in the field.

Our Process
As we are a committed to operating a small and nimble company, we are dedicated to focusing on a few projects at a time, ensuring we are always available to our clients and that no details get left out.
We are a fully hands-on team, from the initial consultation to the final stitch, you are communicating and working directly with us the whole time.
We have a flexible work structure, we understand that as timelines do change and evolve, we can work with your schedule to make sure that the leather elements are installed at the appropriate phase of your project.
Our Story
Architectural Leather Works (ALW) was founded in 2010 by husband and wife Julian and Juliet Seidenberg.
ALW provides design, production and installation services for many types of interior applications using leather and leather alternatives as well as interior products such as chairs, mirrors and door pulls.
JulIAN SEIDENBERG
Co-founder
Julian has always had an interest in design, production and the creative arts, and an underlying passion for building and creating with his hands. Towards the end of his high school years, after landing an apprenticeship with a master leather craftsman, he began to explore the possibility of using leather for high-end interior applications. While working as the general manager of a boutique construction company, he further developed his work with leather and began to build relationships with Architects and Interior Designers.
Juliet SEIDENBERG
Co-founder
While Juliet was taking a sabbatical from her career in working with children and adults with autism, she began to assist in the leather studio, discovering that she quickly understood and enjoyed performing the meticulous duties required for leather work.
With a keen eye for detail, she is always developing new ideas for products and design.
The two founders have brought together their individual skills and experiences to create a dynamic work culture which is ever evolving with the goal to deliver the best possible outcome to their clients.
Our History
Now based in Los Angeles, the ALW studio was originally based in Philmont, NY—a town once referred to as "Factory Hill," due to the thriving textile mills that operated there at the turn of the last century. It is in the rich manufacturing history of that area that we found a deep connection to traditional methods and fine craftsmanship.
